E-GOVERNMENT IN RUSSIA AND CIS

The transition toward the Information Society is one of the most important tasks in Russian Federation. E- government is one of the priorities of the Strategy of Information Society providing the public, business and other branches of power with information and assistance. In achieving this, the Russian authorities are trying to significantly improve access to public sector services by taking advantage of emerging technologies to improve government service delivery and citizen’s engagement through e-government.

However, despite the rapid growth in technological infrastructure and development of regulatory framework the experts assessment of Russia's readiness to use e-government remains a challenge.
